151 Croatian Soldiers Join KFOR Mission in Kosova

TIRANA, November 20 – More than 150 Croatian soldiers joined the KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. The country’s security is important for regional stability, the Croatian Ministry of Defense said.

KosovaPress reported that Croatian forces have taken part in KFOR since 2009 with about 2,400 personnel. Among them, 140 were women. This rotation included 151 Armed Forces members. They gathered at the 3rd Guard Brigade barracks in Gjakova before departure.

The 44th contingent deployed three separate elements. The largest element consisted of a motorized infantry company. The contingent also included aviation and headquarters personnel. In addition, specialists supported the Kosova Security Force, and a medical team joined the mission.

Croatian soldiers previously took part in ten international operations, missions, and activities with 297 personnel in total.

Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anushic praised all Armed Forces members who served in missions and operations worldwide, the announcement said.
