Eurovision 2025: Shkodra Elektronike Takes Albania to 8th Place at Eurovision

Albania has achieved a remarkable milestone at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, securing 8th place in the Grand Final with the song “Zjerm” performed by the duo Shkodra Elektronike. This marks one of the country’s best results in recent years.
Who is Shkodra Elektronike?
Formed in 2019, Shkodra Elektronike consists of producer Kolë Laca and vocalist Beatriçe Gjergji. Both artists have roots in Shkodër, Albania, and grew up in Italy. Their music blends electronic beats with traditional Albanian folk elements, a style they describe as “Post Immigrant Pop.” Their Eurovision entry, “Zjerm” (meaning “Fire”), is performed in the Gheg dialect and combines Balkan folk instruments with modern electronic sounds.
Shkodra Elektronike earned the right to represent Albania by winning the 63rd edition of Festivali i Këngës in December 2024.
