4th edition of the ‘Spirit of the Balkans’ festival is held! The heritage of tradition brings together 6 Balkan countries

The fourth edition of the festival “Spirit of the Balkans”was held in Korca. From Kosovo to Greece, 6 Balkan countries promoted the tradition through ensembles with folk songs and dances in the activity held in the old bazaar in Korça.
Dance, songs and instruments to the sounds of folk music, turned the Old Bazaar square in Korça, into the center of the “Spirit of the Balkans”. The festival, which marks the fourth edition, brought together the best ensembles and groups of the Balkans where the tradition of each country was promoted.
‘The spirit of the Balkans has been created for four years and it has a very big goal to unite the art of the whole Balkans, because we are so very similar to each other. It is the first Balkan festival and this takes place in Korça makes us doubly proud, ‘said Blerta Belliu, director of the Cultural Center.
From Kosovo to Greece, 6 Balkan countries promoted their heritage of tradition, in a festival, where competition between groups remains both symbolic and stimulating for artists.
‘We first came to Korça, not as an assembly, but as visitors. It is also the impact of the festival that made it possible for us to be here as an ensemble and we are very pleased to be neighbors because we come from the city of Florina. “Communication bridges have been opened between the two countries, but also other countries that participate in the festival and that aim at the unification of the Balkans,”said Janis Konstatinu.
