President Begaj on the 50th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosova: A compass of scientific thought and national values

TIRANA, November 10 – President Bajram Begaj attended the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosova in Prishtina. He said the institution played a decisive role in scientific and cultural development.
He noted that the Academy acted as a compass of scientific thought and a guardian of national values. In addition, he described it as a promoter of cultural and intellectual progress in Kosova.
Begaj underlined that the anniversary reflected a journey of knowledge and commitment. He added that the institution advanced even in difficult periods and reached the standards of comparable academies abroad.
He honoured the figures who protected the Albanian language and culture in Kosova. Meanwhile, he referred to teachers, researchers, and early albanologists who worked with sacrifice.
The President stressed that many of them operated without basic scientific resources. He said they relied on ideals and determination to preserve knowledge and identity.
Begaj stated that their contribution allowed Albanian culture, language, and history in Kosova to endure and expand. At the same time, he pointed to the enduring significance of their work.
He referred to cooperation between the Academy of Sciences of Albania, the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosova, and the University of Tirana. In addition, he emphasised support from other academic institutions.
Begaj also recognised the contribution of the Albanian diaspora in safeguarding cultural and scientific values. He said their efforts strengthened national heritage.
The President concluded that the anniversary honoured the personalities of knowledge and art who built the institution’s foundations through work, talent, and integrity.
