Ministry for Economy, Culture and Innovation extended its congratulations today to Professor Robert Radoja, marking his 87th birthday with a tribute on social media.

“Today is the birthday of one of the greatest figures in Albanian art, a name that belongs not only to Shkodër but to all of Albania. Professor Radoja is a national treasure, an artist who has left an indelible mark on music, culture, and the hearts of all those who have had the fortune to hear his art, learn from him, know him, and work with him. Professor, Albania is lucky to have you!”, the Ministry’s online message reads.

Robert Radoja was born in Bologna in 1938. He began studying piano at the Artistic Lyceum in Tirana in 1951. In 1962, he entered the Conservatory, graduating in 1966 with a degree in piano. That same year, he began working at the Palace of Pioneers in Tirana, in the Music Sector.

During this time, he orchestrated numerous light music songs and took part in around 40 festivals, including those organized by Albanian Radio and Television and the Children’s Song Festival.

In 1981, he was appointed music editor at the “New Albania” Film Studio, a post he held until 1986. From 1985, he also served as a professor at the Academy of Arts, teaching piano, chamber music, and accompaniment in the flute class.

His first film composition came in 1970, with the score for ‘The Daring Ones’. At the 41st Song Festival held in Tirana in 2002, his decades of tireless work were honored with the “Appreciation Award.” He has also been decorated with the “Naim Frashëri” Order and awarded the title “Grand Master”.
