Armand Bora: ‘Luba’, the narration of a tragic love story, in the form of ‘playback theatre’

“Luba” written by Ylljet Aliçka is the narration of a tragic story. The show, directed by Armand Bora, was shown in the Black Box hall of the University of Arts, after the hospitality that the public in the city of Fier had previously received at the “Bylis” theater.
Director Armand Bora says that the play “Luba” comes to the public in a different form. “Luba”, the narration of a tragic love story, comes in the form of playback theater. The stories of foreign women in Albania are evidence of what the systems of violence were able to produce,” he says. The director for this part, which was written by the author Ylljet Aliçka, says that he wanted to bring it to the stage for the public, because in addition to the story, it was written in a modern format. According to Armand Bora, this made it easy for him to adapt a new theatrical form.
“We have been talking with Aliçka for a long time about having a collaboration. I liked the text, because in addition to the story, which is very emotionally charged, it was written in such a modern format, which made it easy for me to adapt a new form of theater that is playback theater, which is being experimented for the first time in Albania. A form that was created in America and then spread around the world. A story, which is narrated and materialized on stage by the actors”, says director Armand Bora about the part he brought to the stage. Choreographer in the show is Veroniki Chatzopoulou, composer Enis Mullaj, as/director Astiano Shehaj.
