After the success in Italy, the opera “MelaDramma” for two nights in Tirana

After the success in Italy, the opera in Italian “MelaDramma”, written and composed by Olsa Toqi, marks its premiere in Tirana. For two consecutive nights in the Orthodox Cathedral, the public can follow the modern opera, where the original sin of Eve and Adam is broken down, in an opposite approach.
“It is practically the drama of sin, since this time sin itself undergoes drama. The music is totally tonal, melodious, easily caught by the ear”, says composer and author of the libretto Olsa Toqi.
As a young musician, who also writes the libretto in Italian, Olsa attracted attention in the neighboring country, where she was selected in the “Puccini” course among the 10 best foreign composers. 4 years after the success in the “San Girolamo” Theater, in Lucca, Italy, opera for soprano and piano, is performed on Saturday and Sunday at 19.00, in the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana.
In 45 minutes, the pop opera “MelaDramma” will capture the public’s attention in 7 arias, where each of them, which includes different historical references, is connected through the apple of sin, which in this case brings enlightenment. Thus Toqi breaks down the original sin of Adam and Eve, reversing the original approach.
In addition to the piano (Ingrid Pulizo) and 4 sopranos (Eva Golemi, Marina Kurti, Greis Shametaj, Viola Bakiasi) minimalist scenography, accompanying performance by three dancers (Denada Hristic, Eles Resuli, Sabina Maklekaj) and ‘live electronix’ music (Lorenzo Ballerini) , are just some of the elements that bring this opera closer to the public.
