National Museum of Medieval Art in Korça visited by 20,000 visitors in October

The National Museum of Medieval Art in Korça visited by 20,000 visitors in October.
The news was announced by the mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo through a post on social networks.
He emphasizes that several programs that the Museum of Medieval Art has recently undertaken have also influenced the increase in the number of visitors. One of them is the “Little Painter in the Museum”, an educational program dedicated to young people, to instill a love of art from an early age. In addition to visiting the museum, children have the opportunity to color drawings from the “Icons” book, revealing children’s spontaneity in the selection of colors.
Another interesting program is “Education Through Culture” which is dedicated to 9-year and high school students. In the framework of this program, several educational lessons have been developed with the theme “Enjoying the treasures of Albanian Art”.
The students were introduced to the works of the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine period exhibited at MKAM and heard about the famous medieval painters Onufrin and his school, the Korcari, Voskopoja masters and many others.
The purpose of these programs of the Museum of Medieval Art is to get to know the cultural heritage, and to transmit masterpieces of visual art between generations.
