The maintenance, restoration and consolidation works have started in another first category cultural monument object, Prokopi Bridge, in Himara municipality, part of the maintenance package of  Vlora Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage, for the year 2022.

After the design of the project by the Vlora Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage and the project approval by the National Council of Material Cultural Heritage, the implementation of maintenance, restoration and consolidation works, mainly consists of: clearing of high vegetation, consolidation of the bridge masonry through filling of joints, restoration of the cobblestone layer, cleaning of the facade from dust and deposits, placement of gabions for the protection of the bridge base, stitching of the cracks in the bridge with stainless steel rods, as well as placement of transverse braces to strengthen the structure.

This bridge of XVIII century carries important architectural and historical importance, with a length of 17.5 m, a width of 3.8 m, a space of 6 m of arch light. It takes its name from the St. Prokopi Church located near it.

Within the months of November, it will be fully functional and an added value among the natural and cultural attractions in Himara municipality.
