The European Archaeological Film Festival “Archeovizion” started yesterday the second edition in Tirana. Productions from different countries were shown to the public, where our country will be represented in this festival with two documentaries. This year’s theme called “Back to the Future” at this festival focuses on archaeological heritage.

The “Archeovizion” festival presents eight films (with Albanian subtitles) from six different countries: Albania, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece and Italy. The Academy of Albanian Studies, of which the Institute of Archeology is a part, announces that the directors and their camera will take us to the most famous or still unknown places in Europe, will show the beauty of the discoveries and their hidden mysterious stories. “But these films also show the great importance of preserving cultures and heritage to reinforce similarities and differences,” said the ASA.

“Archeovizion” started as an initiative of the Italian Institute of Culture and the French Embassy, in partnership with the Institute of Archeology (Academy of Albanological Studies). It has found the support of EUNIC (EU National Institutes for Culture) and aims to access cultural events related to places and history, to explain the work of archaeological missions; to improve virtual access to this heritage for both Albanians and foreigners as well as to address educational and economic aspects (digital innovation, tourism).
