The 20th edition of the Tirana International Film Festival has ended, with the gala evening at the Millennium Cinema, where prizes were awarded for the best filmmakers and films participating in this festival.

The best film of the festival was declared the Polish film “Illusion” by Marta Minrowicz, winning the “Golden Owl” award. “The Den” by director Beatrice Baldacci, Italian film (90′) won the “Silver Owl”.

The best director was awarded to Vaclac Kadrnka, for the film “Saving one who was dead”. Kadrnka’s film was a co-production between the Czech Republic, Slovakia and France.

With the “Best Screenplay” award, the jury awarded Ellie Foumbi, for the screenplay of the film “Our father, the devil”, an American-French film of 2021.

Among the many other selected artists of this festival, we will single out two artists, the only Albanians who grabbed awards at TIFF 2022. They are Keti Stamo, in the BEST Made in ALBANIA category, with the film “Sons of Cain” , as well as Flaka Kokolli, from Kosovo, who was awarded Best Short Film in Albanian, for the film “Shpija”.
