Cinematography Month, Margariti: Gratitude to all the actors

With the film “The Bride and Curfew”, a production of 1978, the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, expressed her gratitude to all the actors of Albanian cinematography, who, according to her, gave their best in extraordinary conditions.

The film “Bride and Curfew” bears the signature of 2 directors, Ibrahim Muçaj and Kristaq Mitro. The script is the work of Helena Kadare, while the music is composed by the great Kujtim Laro.

For the main roles, the directors had selected Rajmonda Bulku, Kastriot Çaushin, Sotiraq Bratko and others, but it is worth highlighting the acting of Llazi Serbo, in the role of the German officer.

The film tells about Shpresa, who goes to a house of collaborators of fascism to sell embroidery and commits an important assassination. After that, she has to go underground dressed as a bride. For this, she is helped by her friends with whom she collaborated for the assassination. Dressed as a bride, Shpresa escapes the curfew.

12 films bear the stamp of the two directors Ibrahim Muçaj and Kristaq Mitro. An unparalleled collaboration in Albanian cinematography, but something very rare even in the international arena, for 2 creators to collaborate for so long.

Like the creators, the actors have always expressed that they did their best to escape the indoctrination of the dictatorial period in Albania.
