The Greek Cultural Week kicks off on Monday, May 23, 2022, in the framework of the government initiative that aims at the recognition of other cultures and traditions by Albanian citizens. Activities on the occasion of the Greek Cultural Week take place under the auspices of the Greek Embassy, ​​the Municipality of Tirana and the Ministry of Culture. Tirana, Korça, Gjirokastra, Derviçiani, Fieri and Shkodra will be the places where the activities will take place.

This event includes numerous activities in the field of art, cooking, culture, sports and heritage. The Symphonic Rebetiko Orchestra by Yannis Belonis, who is a close collaborator of Mikis Theodhorakis for the last 15 years, will come to Tirana and will perform the best of his repertoire in the context of transmitting cultural values ​​from the neighboring country. It’s a golden opportunity to get acquainted with some of the most valuable heritage sites in the world, sounds that are hard to hear every day. As part of the magic of cinema, Greece brings this week dedicated to the culture coming from the neighboring country, films like “Apples”, “Eftychia”, “Tailor” and “The Enigma of Keros”. These films have been made in recent years and are part of the artistic programs of the most popular festivals for the big screen and arrive in our country to acquaint the general Albanian public with modern Greek cinema.

The tastes of rich Greek recipes even when it comes to the “poor cuisine, simple cuisine” of a family, come in dishes that will be served in the pedestrian area of ​​Shkodra and the New Bazaar in Tirana. For two days, this open invitation invites you to enjoy not only the Greek salad that we already have in our homes, but also many other recipes similar to our tastes. The similar culture in gastronomy is one of the common points that connects the two countries and in these two meetings you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the common heritage that still carries today the tables set in Greece and Albania.
