Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti have appeared in a press conference  for the annual cycle of the International Culture Weeks that starts today with France.

Prime Minister Rama said that this initiative of the Albanian government is in a starting phase that will be enriched in the coming years. This initiative of the Albanian government with the international culture weeks aims at revealing the traditions and cultures.

“A new initiative of the Albanian government: ‘Albania welcomes the world” and in cooperation with other friendly, partner countries, present in Albania, through their representations, we have organized it through a series of international cultural weeks. “These weeks aim to be an annual tradition to reveal traditions, cultures, forms with the most diverse expressions of the activity of every civilization”, said Prime Minister Rama.

Minister Margariti informed that there are 17 countries in this initiative, and the ages 18-35 will be included mainly. According to the minister, there will be no activities in July-August.

“There are 17 countries, there are more weeks because it is the EU in May, with different activities throughout Albania. This tradition extends to the US, Japan, China Israel, Spain, France, United Arab Emirates.

The age group from 18-35 years old have a great variety of activities, not only opera, ballet, but also culinary, sports and in all weeks there will be dedicated evenings, movies in cinemas. We have worked closely with several states. There will be no activities in July-August because the diplomatic corps was unable to carry out these activities with their presence in Albania.
