Artist Agim Sulaj opens exhibition at Tirana Art Gallery

War, peace, globalization and even press censorship, 18 works by artist Agim Sulaj are exhibited at Tirana Art Gallery. They are original works, made with pencil, watercolor and acrylic. While philosophical topics he prefers to deal mainly with oil paintings. His exhibition, curated by artist Abaz Hado, comes at a time of turmoil, where war is the talk of the town, but as he puts it, especially these days people need art. Even for his caricature, which goes beyond satire, he meditates on social themes.
“I treat social problems to sensitize people. To protect the environment, peace and life “, says the painter and cartoonist Sulaj.
“I see that Albania today needs real intellectuals, real people to break the rhythm of politics to some extent”
Almost every exhibited work has received international weight awards. It counts a total of 204 evaluations, but none of them was given by Albania. And yet, for him it matters that his art goes to the public. The latest project connects him with Fellini. Invited as one of the famous art figures, in the Fellini city of Rimini, he painted a mural with 16 characters from the movie “Amarcord” in “San Guliano”. He has realized 55 works with them in his studio, which he will exhibit on April 15 and 16 in Paris.
