Scientific Conference on the myths created by the propaganda of communism is held in Tirana

A scientific conference on the myths created by propaganda during the communist regime was held in Tirana. Professors from Albanian universities and European universities, participated with studies that exposed false myths.

“The novel ‘The Clerk of the Dream Palace’ was censored and later published. “Communism knew that Kadare’s works, even though they had the myth of resistance against the Ottomans, had elements that an attentive reader interpreted as criticism of the internal regime,” Sulstarova said.

The conference was held in the framework of the 7th Edition of the days of remembrance, which this year have exactly the theme of the myths and illusions with which the population was fed during the dictatorship. For the director of crime and consequence research institutes, the state-run party itself was illegal.

“In 1946 the popular assembly passed a law allowing the creation of political parties. “Based on this law, the parties had to be registered and the Communist Party never did that, so it was illegal,” said Celo Hoxha.

The created myths were treated through several prisms in the conference organized by IDMC, from political myths, to the cult of the individual, myths in art, controversial heroes, and friends and enemies in two times.
