These are some of the stops you can make in a 3-hour trip by adapting to the “Italian History from the South” tour. The Consul General of Italy in Vlora, Iva Palmieri said that this initiative will further promote Italian tourism in the city .
An interesting initiative. A tour that introduces us to the Italian presence in Gjirokastra. It is always a pleasure to be in this city and just as much pleasure has been to see this experience that will surely enrich the tourist package of the whole region and that will surely attract the Italian tourists who are every year more and more in Gjirokastra,’ said Inva Palmeri, Italian consul in Vlora.
Through tourism, the stories of personalities who spent their lives among the inhabitants of the city, people who built and those who were killed or persecuted by the communist regime are being evidenced.
Visitors are introduced to the role of Enver Hoxha, and his personal story that led to punishments against the Italians of Gjirokastra.
