“Learn – Albanian”, the new online platform that helps Albanian-Americans learn the Albanian language

One of the challenges for immigrants, including the Albanian-American community, is to preserve the language of their country to children growing up in the United States. Opening an online Albanian language, history, and culture course created a new window of opportunity for children Albanian-Americans. The “Learn Albanian” platform, although it has been a few months since it started, has immediately aroused great interest of Albanian-American families.
The founder of the Learn Albanian platform, Faton Gjuka, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, says that the inspiration for this project came from the necessity he noticed in his own family.
” Initially I wanted to open a school in San Francisco and one in Atlanta for them to learn Albanian. But the challenges of opening a physical school are great and it is not practical. “That’s why I opened the online school,” the founder of “Learn Albanian” told VOA.
Mr. Gjuka adds that the content of the course was drafted in cooperation with the Ministries of Education in Albania and Kosovo. Among the 20 teachers from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
With a subscription of about $ 140 per month, students learn Albanian, but the course goes beyond the language. The program of the Platform “Learn Albanian” consists of 10 levels, where each level consists of 36 hours. Classes are organized with only one student per hour.
