The international journey of director Xhanfise Keko’s films continues. In 2021, it was Rome that honored the Albanian director.

“Cinema Festival in Rome” took place from 14-24 October 2021. Over 170 films from all over the world were screened at this event. Art director of the festival, Gianluca Giannelly, paid tribute to the Albanian director at the press conference held by the organizers and said:

“Albanian director Xhanfise Keko is the only female director who has created an important filmography for children’s stories. She turned them into tools to reveal the society she lived in at that time and gave them a political role in which she showed that she did not want to be locked in a cage. For us, this was another message we wanted to convey through our choice”

During the festival days, remastered versions of two films “Beni walks on his own” and “Spoiled Mimosa ” were screened on 20 October in honor of Albanian director Xhanfise Keko’s contribution to cinematography and artistic personality.

The presentation of the young actors of the movie “Spoiled Mimosa” Zhaklina Dhimojani, Teuta Doci and Ema Shteto to the foreign public was also impressive.
