Youth Day, Book Center proposes law on reading

In the framework of December 8, National Youth Day, the director of the National Center for Books and Reading, Alda Bardhyli, proposes to the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti and the Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, the drafting of a law on reading.
“The National Center for Books and Reading in cooperation with specialists in the field and with the two relevant ministries, will work to implement this law during 2021. A law that in a way will not be an obligation in itself, but an incentive to return the love for reading “, says the director of the National Center for Books and Reading, Alda Bardhyli. Scholars see it as an inappropriate initiative, as reading cannot be imposed by law.
At the center of this dialogue meeting at the National Historical Museum was also discussed the non-functional libraries of schools, but also the city, which in these 30 years has not had the proper attention to be supplied with new publications.
While, the Minister of Culture recounts the concrete initiatives she has undertaken for the education of young people through art.
“This year we do not have a defined budget, but we have prepared the donation to schools and high schools of 300 classic titles,” says the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti.
