Exhibition on the 100th birth anniversary of the pioneer of the Albanian cinema, Marie Logoreci

An exhibition was opened at the National Museum on the 100th birth anniversary of the pioneer of the Albanian drama, Marie Logoreci.
Marie Logoreci’s artistic life kicked off as a singer at Radio Tirana in 1945, where she performed as a soloist folk songs of Shkodra, and middle-Albania and partisan songs in a 20-minute show. Meanwhile, she attended a one-year course on canto at the Artistic Lyceum in Tirana, with the vocal pedagogue Jorgjia Truja (People’s Artist). She also started performing songs in concerts in the capital. In 1947 she participated as a soloist in the general State Choir, touring even abroad. She performed around 100 different songs in Radio Tirana during 1945–1947 .
Seeing Marie’s interpretive ability when singing, they proposed her to work at the National Theater. With her creative work, Marie Logoreci has given us a rich gallery of characters. Her masterful, expressive and realistic figures will always be remembered by the Albania art lovers.
Marie Logoreci has performed in 40 stage dramas. All her performances of Shakespeare’s, of Molière’s, of Lorca’s, or Gorky’s dramas, as well as those of the Albanian authors, Kole Jakova, Ndreke Luca etc. disclosed her particular artistic abilities, and all framed her portrait as an artist of individuality, reflecting harmony between her acting and her external plastics. She managed to have a clear knowledge of the acoustics; she’d achieved such a virtuosity in her actions bridging the distance between her and the audience. Her dynamics and her temperament had marked her voice with a high key of intonation which was suggestive in her stage performances.
Marie was also a pioneer of Albanian cinema. The first important film she acted in was “The Great Warrior Skanderbeg” and Albanian-Russian co-production. She played in the first short feature film, “Her Children” and in 12 other movies, produced by the Albanian Kinostudio (Film Studio) and Television. The heroines created by Marie in the movies are individualized figures, which preserve their values in the history of the Albanian film. Maria remained a great actress of the Albanian stage. She created her art while being always remembered as the Albanian mother “Lokja” the main character of the movie”Our Land”.
Her most successful roles are: Jessy in the “Russian Case”, Alisa Lengton in “Deep Rose”, Kristina Padera in “Convicted Conspiracy”, Fatime in “Halili and Hajrija”, Aljona Patrovna in “The Six Lovers “, Lokja in” Our Land “, Ledi Milford in” Intrigue and Love “, Tringa in” The Seven from Shala”, Gertruda in” Hamlet “, Bernarda Alba in” Bernarda Alba’s House “, Tadrahova in” Morality of Ms. Dulska “, Mother June in “The Great Insurmountable Wall”, Mara in “Provisional”, The old woman in “The Roof of All”, Mother in “The girl from the Highlands”, Gjela in “The Heavy Floods”.
