A special focus as well will be granted on the transmission of chronicles and current events in the region, but not only, the production of documentaries and the coverage of the events focusing on innovative tools, enhancing cooperation and the regional audiences

During the signing ceremony, Director General of the Albanian Public Radio and Television, RTSH, Alfred Peza said that this RTSH initiative does not only come as a fulfillment the spirit and philosophy of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union), but also to increase the cooperation between the public Albanian Radio and Television of the neighboring countries.

Mr. Peza emphasized the importance of public broadcasters, and the joining of energies, forces and resources in facing the common challenges to increase reliability with quality programs, professional content and better information and education for the citizens.

“Some of the challenges faced are related to the technological challenges of digitization, but also to the growth of our national identity through programs and with the same speed and approach to our Euro-Atlantic integration processes,” said Mr. Peza.

During his speech, Mr. Peza underlined that Shkodër was chosen for the meeting, considering not only as it being one of the cities that includes in its history all the dynamics of the developments of the region but also of the peoples of our neighboring countries. “It was the inevitable city to hold the first meeting of the leaders of public broadcasters of the region,” stated Peza.

The General Director of the Public Radio and Television of North Macedonia will join next week in Tirana to complete the regional meeting of the 4 General Directors of the respective public Radio and Televisions, Albania, Kosova, North Macedonia and Montenegro.

In his speech, the General Director of the RTCG, Boris Raonic among others, emphasized the fact that through this Memorandum of Understanding the Montenegrin minority in Albania will have a great benefit. Citizens should be aware that without public services they cannot be well informed especially in today’s times when different platforms are used. I hope that this agreement that we reach today will not only be on paper, but will serve in the best interest of all”.

“I am very glad that the dynamics of the realization of this cooperation is happening at such a high speed thanks also to the commitment of the general director of the RTSH. The three of us could be in our offices making projects on how to compete with each other, rather we chose a different path, that of cooperation between our public broadcasters as the key to increase the potential of technical and technological cooperation, and of the programs, the General Director of the RTK, Shkumbin Ahmetxhekaj pointed out during the Memorandum of Understanding ceremony.
