Albania-Bulgaria, closer academic cooperation

Albania and Bulgaria, both located in the same region, aim to enhance cooperation, extending beyond political and economic realms. The field of higher education and scientific research provides ample opportunities for such collaboration.
Accompanied by a delegation primarily composed of representatives from the academic sphere, the Vice President of Bulgaria and the Rector of the University of Tirana, Prof. Dr. Artan Hoxha, engaged in discussions about the potential and necessity for enhancing cooperation. They explored opportunities for student and lecturer exchanges, as well as collaboration in research studies and scientific research projects.
“There is a rising interest in the languages and cultures of neighboring countries, and it’s crucial that we nurture and enhance this interest. This will not only strengthen and deepen our existing cooperation but also pave the way for additional initiatives at the university and academic levels,” stated Hoxha.
Bulgarian and Albanian universities collaborate by creating joint training programs for students and doctoral candidates, as well as engaging in joint research projects.
