Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated from Sarajevo that in the middle of July, he will organize an informal meeting with the leaders of the Western Balkans and representatives of the European Commission to build a common position on the Berlin process and transform this process into a productive machine.

“Soon, around mid-July, I will organize an informal meeting between the leaders of the region and EC representatives for this new plan and to build a common position for the Berlin Process to transform this process into a much more productive machine,” he said..

The Prime Minister also sent a message to the European Union for increased support to the Western Balkans. He stated that the European Union must provide evidence that good behavior and the will to build peace are rewarded.

“We would like to build a joint position of the 6 Western Balkan states to use the Tirana summit as a summit where the plan for a new financing from the EU for these 6 countries will come to life.

Since the first day of the opening of negotiations with the EU, we have started this effort and there is a process that has been announced by President Von der Leyen for a new support in order to increase regional cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans.

We support the support that the EU gives to Ukraine in every aspect and there is no room for comparisons, but it is necessary to build a new approach in relation to the Western Balkans.

I don’t believe that we should start any war to get more support. The EU should support us even more by giving another proof that good behavior is rewarded, that the will to build peace is rewarded”, said the head of the government in his speech at the joint conference with the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kristo.
