Kosova Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has confirmed that Serbia has kidnapped three police officers in the territory of Kosova, thus violating every agreement and every principle of international norms. Svelça has asked the international factor to urgently increase the pressure on Serbia not only to release the police officers but also to stop provocations.

He said that Serbia continues to be the cause and guardian of evil in the region and in Kosova.

“We do not back down from criminals and terrorists. Serbia is again showing its true face and that of an autocratic and aggressive state… We ask the international factor to urgently increase the pressure on Serbia not only to release the police officers but also to stop provocations,” he wrote.

“While law and order is being implemented in our country, criminal Serbia entered the territory of Kosova and kidnapped three police officers of the Republic of Kosova, in violation of any agreement and against any principle of international norm. Without any doubt, our police officers were located well inside the territory of the Republic of Kosova, at a static checkpoint, performing their regular duties,” Sveçla wrote.

He added that such criminal behavior of Serbia does not stop us in our journey of strengthening sovereignty in the country.

Kosova Police announced earlier that in the depth of the territory of the Republic of Kosova, in the border area in the north of the country, it was reported today that three border patrol officers were kidnapped.

It is known that the Kosova Police (KP), in this case the border patrol police unit, has been on duty at a static point in the place called Tresave/Bare, deep inside the territory of the Republic of Kosova, to prevent the use of illegal roads , which were used by criminal groups for illegal crossing and smuggling.

After the tense situation in the north of Kosova, where three border officers were kidnapped by Serbian forces, the government of Albin Kurti has decided that no goods from Serbia will be allowed to enter Kosova.

This decision came after the kidnapping of three border police officers in the north of Kosova, an event for which Albin Kurti said that in addition to being an open aggression, this shows also destabilization aim.

In addition to Kurti, the Kosova Police and Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla have also reacted, requesting to international bodies the immediate release of three officers, Koha.net reports.

Meanwhile, the Kosova Police has declared that it will hold an extraordinary press conference at 17:00.
