Tensions in the north, KFOR is expected to remove the barricades! Escobar and Chollet visit Kosova

The senior adviser of the American State Department, Derek Chollet, and the US envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, are in Kosova, where they will hold meetings with high representatives of the state after the tensions in the north of the country.
DASH announces that Chollet will talk with officials in Kosova on many issues, including the US efforts to advance Kosova’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Even the recent tensions in the north of Kosova will be part of the debate, where internationals have called for Serbia and Kosova to sit down and dialogue.
The crossings at the Bërnjak and Jarinje are still blocked by Serbian barricades, while it is expected that KFOR will remove the barricades in the next few hours.
Over the weekend, the situation in the north of Kosova became tense, where the Serbian community there set up barricades and attacked the Kosova police and EULEX with bombs. This happened after the Kosova Police arrested a Serb for involvement in attacks against the officials of the Central Election Commission in the north of Kosovo and the police.
