The European Union-Western Balkans summit will be held on December 6 in Tirana

In the summit to be held for the second time this year, this time in Tirana as the host country, among the leaders who are expected to come to the capital are the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, the prime minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni and the German chancellor Olaf Scholz. For the head of the government, this is an indication that Albania, despite being a small country, has gained respect in the international arena. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Sali Berisha’s opposition has announced a protest.
The summit comes at a time when Albania and North Macedonia have started negotiations, while Kosovo is awaiting visa liberalization and Bosnia-Herzegovina is awaiting the status of a candidate country. On the other hand, Serbia is being asked to make more progress in the dialogue with Kosovo in order to advance in the EU integration process.
The Western Balkans has asked not to be left alone by Brussels in the face of the energy crisis that the whole world is facing. Meanwhile, the EU has promised to include the 6 EU countries in its project to stand by them in this period of crisis.
