Prime Minister Edi Rama at the Regional Transport Summit also spoke about the Open Balkans, for which he said that they will continue with the projects that have been launched in order to implement the 4 European Union freedoms.
The Prime Minister also said that they have entered another phase of the economic investment plan, thanks to the increased support of the EBRD.
“After this summit, I will go to another summit of the Open Balkans in order to move as quickly as possible to the realization of free movement of people, goods, capital and services and the implementation of 4 EU freedoms
These 4 freedoms of the EU movement in the Western Balkans are what is vital for us, what is vital for security in this region, what is vital for peace and conflict resolution in this area of Europe.
I do not want to dwell on the projects, but I am glad that we have entered another phase of the economic investment plan and thanks to the increase of EBRD support also thanks to a much greater synergy within the region and a deeper and more concrete understanding of the necessity to unite these forces in function of the future “, said Rama.
The Prime Minister also focused on the blue corridor project, emphasizing that they are in an advanced stage. He stated that the EU should support Montenegro because if the segment connecting Croatia with Albania through Montenegro remains undeveloped, part of this corridor will be lost.
