“The Open Balkans will not stop because the future can not stop,” responded Prime Minister Edi Rama to the President of Montenegro and the President of Kosovo, who spoke against this regional initiative.

In a Twitter post, Rama says the initiative promotes peace, integration and accelerates the Berlin Process.

 “Everyone who is against the Open Balkans has the right not to see, not to hear and not to understand that this initiative promotes peace, cooperation, integration and accelerates the Berlin Process! “The Open Balkans will not stop because the future cannot stop,” Rama wrote.

Milo Djukanovic and Vjosa Osmani stressed  the need for regional co-operation only within existing initiatives, agreeing that the “Open Balkans” is not the right initiative. From Prishtina, where Djukanovic paid an official visit, the two counterparts said that the Berlin Process is the right initiative to offer regional co-operation between the Western Balkan countries.

Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are not part of the “Open Balkans” regional initiative.
