“Open Balkan”, the agenda of the meeting in Tirana revealed

Tirana will be the host city for the next meeting of the Open Balkans, which this time in addition to the Atlantic Council will include the European Commission.

For 2 days, on Monday and Tuesday, December 20th and 21st, the leaders of the 3 countries involved in this process, Prime Minister Rama, Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will formalize this initiative aimed at the free movement of people, goods, services and capital by signing 5 agreements.

Zaev and Vucic, accompanied by several of their ministers and the heads of their countries’ chambers of commerce will arrive in Tirana on Monday afternoon. The first day is scheduled for an official dinner at a resort in the city of Elbasan, the same where the meeting of the two governments Albania-Kosovo took place, which will be attended by a representative of the Atlantic Council Jim O’Brien and Alex Soros, leader of the Open Society Foundation. On Tuesday the meeting will start at 9 o’clock in the palace of the Brigades.

The teams of the 3 countries will be joined by the Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhely online, as well as the director of CEFTA Emir Djikic, as well as Majlinda Bregu as the General Secretary of the Regional Cooperation Council.

The first agreement to be signed by Rama, Vucic and Zaev is on the conditions for free access to the labor market.

Other agreements relate to: joint schemes for electronic identification of citizens at border crossings, for cooperation in the field of food safety, for mutual recognition of economic operators.
