President Osmani: Assemblies of Albania and Kosova Are Temples of Democracy; EU Will Be More Complete with Our Two Countries

The joint session of the Albanian and Kosova Assemblies began this Friday (December 20) with the playing of both countries anthems.
In her speech, Kosova President Vjosa Osmani highlighted that this meeting reflects the shared heritage of the two countries and their unwavering commitment to building a worthy future.
Osmani stated that the assemblies of Albania and Kosova, as “temples of democracy,” have a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral ties and advancing the interests of their citizens.
“This meeting reflects our shared heritage and our steadfast determination to create a dignified future. This session should serve as a call to action, a reminder that our common goal requires relentless effort.
For both our countries, this is essential. A stronger Albania means a stronger Kosovo. We must seize this moment to build the necessary harmony.
The deep connection between our two countries is rooted in history, countless sacrifices, and a shared vision. This bond is the unshakable foundation on which we must build even greater cooperation and more frequent coordination.
Kosova and Albania are two inseparable parts of a great nation united by a glorious history. Our parliaments, as temples of democracy, play a crucial role in strengthening our bilateral ties and advancing the interests of our citizens,” Osmani declared.
Turning to the topic of European integration, Osmani affirmed that the European Union will be more secure and complete with both Albania and Kosovo as its members.
She also spoke about the ongoing injustices faced by the people of Kosovo and called for Albania’s continued support in overcoming these challenges.
“Albania is making decisive steps on its European path, and I want to express my heartfelt congratulations. This achievement is a source of pride for all Albanians, wherever they live. Kosova, as always, remains unwavering in its commitment to EU integration, and our efforts in this direction are constant. Our aspiration to join the EU reflects our identity and our vision.
Unfortunately, the obstacles Kosova faces in this regard are enormous. The injustice against the people of Kosova continues to grow. To overcome these challenges successfully, we need Albania’s ongoing support. The EU will be more secure and complete with our countries as members.
Kosova’s NATO membership will ultimately put an end to Serbia’s hegemonic and destabilizing ambitions toward Kosova. To achieve this shared future, it is essential to strengthen coordination between our two countries,” Osmani emphasized.
