President of Albania, Bajram Begaj was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen” of the Municipality of Drenas this Monday (June 24). The head of Albanian state, in his speech at the award ceremony, considered this moment one of the most special in his life. While expressing that the first honor goes to the war heroes and martyrs, Begaj also honored the heroes of peace who are in The Hague.
“Firstly, the honor goes to the war heroes and martyrs, as well as the heroes of peace in The Hague.
Today, I feel great honor and privilege as I stand before you and accept the title of honorary citizen of Drenas. This is one of the most special moments in my life.
Drenas is a place with a rich history and a big heart. It has played an important role in the history of Kosova. This land has faced great challenges and has given birth to heroes who have bravely fought for the freedom, independence of Kosova and all Albanians.
Personally, I still vividly remember the sacrifices many of you endured during the Serbian aggression,” President Begaj underscored.
