President Bajram Begaj held a meeting today in Skopje with the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, discussing the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries.

Begaj congratulated Gashi on successfully fulfilling his commitments in his new role as parliamentary leader, while also appreciating the representation of Albanians in key institutions of North Macedonia.

During their discussion, they emphasized the importance of lessons learned from the past and the need not to repeat mistakes.

“As public figures, we must be careful not to repeat past mistakes and work towards a better present and future,” expressed Begaj.

President Begaj stated, “We must leave future generations a common regional legacy built on bridges of friendship, which, unlike the past where bridges were often destroyed, are now being constructed.”

The cooperation between the two countries was described as excellent, while remaining spaces for improvement were highlighted.

“We must work together as Albanians, as Macedonians, and as citizens of this region,” said Begaj, emphasizing the commitment to continue expanding cooperation.

President Begaj expressed confidence in further strengthening relations and continuing joint projects, aiming for the path of cooperation to “expand from two shared lanes to four.”
