The National Center for Books and Reading launched “Jeta me laps”, a monograph on Kosovo journalist Nehat Islami, authored by Xheladin Rexhepi. Aleksandër Çipa praised Islami as the first war journalist from the Albanian-speaking world, highlighting his work in the Middle East, especially during the Intifada. Attendees expressed regret over Islami’s under-recognition, noting the book’s portrayal of his contributions, including past writings. Publisher Zyrafete Shala hopes for similar recognition in Albania. Islami, the only Albanian journalist to report from Beirut for four years, has interviewed prominent figures like Yasser Arafat, Jacques Prevert, and Ismail Kadare.
