Virgjil Muçi, a renowned Albanian author, presented his new novel, “The Three Lives of Mr. P.,” at the National Center for Books and Reading. This novel explores the boundless love of an individual for power over human beings, offering a profound representation of the relationship between the individual and authority.

“The Three Lives of Mr. P.” unfolds a complex narrative that examines the protagonist’s journey through three dimensions: the world of ordinary mortals (Earth), the realm of eternal shadows (Underworld), and the final station where he must pay the price of self-denial to secure eternity. This relationship with power, while sublime, faces a tragicomic panorama of his interactions with others, who, in his eyes, appear as subordinates and servile beings.

Virgjil Muçi, born in 1963 in Tirana, has an esteemed career in children’s literature and is one of the most recognized translators of literary works. He has brought many well-known titles into Albanian, including “The Song of Qyqe” and “The Silk Worm” by R. Galbraith, as well as classics by Agatha Christie, such as “And Then There Were None” and “Murder on the Orient Express.” He has also translated popular children’s titles like “Pippi Longstocking” by Astrid Lindgren and “The Three Little Pigs.”

Muçi has received several awards, including the National Silver Pen Award in 1997, the Translation Award in 1998, and the At Donat Kurti Award in 2009, presented by the Ministry of Culture. These achievements position him as an important figure in the Albanian literary world.
