Fatmir Kumbaro is a well-known journalist and diplomat. He was born in Tirana on December 5, 1947.

Kumbaro graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, and he has performed important duties; journalist in the “Voice of the People” newspaper, lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana and General Director of Albanian Radio and Television in 1991.

Fatmir Kumbaro was one of the founders of the Socialist Party and for several years a member of its leadership. In the first years of pluralism, he was also a member of the Central Election Commission.

Fatmir Kumbaro has also made a valuable contribution as an extraordinary and powerful ambassador of the Republic of Albania in North Macedonia and Bulgaria.

 He has made a special contribution before and during the war in Kosovo, when in the responsibility of the Ambassador in North Macedonia he had to coordinate the actions of the Albanian state with the international factor, just as with the same responsibility and commitment he got engaged after the developments in North Macedonia during the KLA war until the signing of the Ohrid Agreement and then its implementation.
