Skënder Sallaku, born on January 25, 1935 in Tirana  and passed away on February 11, 2014, was one of most famous Albanian comedians, former national champion in classical wrestling, author of short comedy plays and parodies. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Physical Culture “Vojo Kushi” and completed a one-year qualification in China, at the Beijing circus.

First, he started working as a professional in the Border Variety Show Theater, then as an acrobatic clown in the circus, giving a unique contribution to the progress of this profile, which would become iconic at the Tirana Variety Show Theater.

Skënder Sallaku has been awarded the titles “Merited Artist”, “People’s Artist” and “The Recognition of the City of Tirana”.

The career of the artist lasted for more than half a century, where thanks to his excellent plastic skills, pantomime, etc., he performed in more than 1000 roles on stage and screen, which will remain long in the memory of art lovers and as a treasure for artistic heritage, mainly in the comedy genre.

Skënder Sallaku remains one of the most prominent comedians of Albania.
