On August 23, 1943, the renowned writer, publicist, and filmmaker Kiço Blushi was born in Korça. The life and work of Kiço Blushi are inextricably linked with the accomplishments and history of Albanian journalism, particularly in the written form, spanning over 60 consecutive years.

After completing his higher studies in Albanian and Russian literature, he started his career as an editor at Albanian Radio Television. In 1974, he transitioned to the role of an editor at the “New Albania” Cinema Studio. His inaugural screenplay was for the film “The Happy Couple” in 1975, where he served as a co-author. In the same year, he received the Third Class Republic Award for his contribution to the script of the movie “Beni walks on his own”. He has authored 14 feature film scripts as well as two scripts for documentary and animated films.

On February 20, 1991, he was called by former President Ramiz Alia to join the Presidential Council. From 1991 to 2006, he served as a member of the Albanian Parliament, representing the Socialist Party. Upon stepping down from his position as Chairman of the Governing Council of the Albanian Public Radio and Television, he withdrew from active politics. He sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 75.

Kiço Blushi will be remembered for his wealth of experience, significant contributions, and remarkable literary prowess.
