“People’s Artist” Violeta Manushi passed away on July 26, 2007.

The icon of theatrical and cinematographic art with a rich gallery of executed roles enjoyed wide sympathy and popularity among the public. It was equally successful in comedy and drama.

During her career, she performed 100 roles in the theater and 16 roles in cinematography. Her last performance was in Ruzhdi Pulaha’s tragicomedy, “Shelter of the Forgotten”.

At the age of 20, she enrolled in the first drama school, opened near the State Theater in 1946. She stood out for her genuineness, rare naturalness, but also discipline and iron will.

She excelled in the lead roles in the comedies “The Merry Wives of Windsor” (1959) and “The Morality of Mrs. Dulska” (1958). From the national dramaturgy, she successfully interpreted Olimbia in “Carnivals of Korça” (1964), Zyhra in “The Second Face” (1968), Nica in “The General of the Dead Army” (1971), Ollga in “The Lady from the City” (1975) ) and eighth in “Palace 176” (1985).

She played roles in 16 films: “Tana”, “Sorrounded by recommenders”, “General of the dead army” and “Lady from the city”. These are some of the achievements where her acting strength stood out the most. Manushi was awarded the Film Festival Award in 1977.
