On July 6, 1943, Margarita and Kristaq Tutulani were killed by fascist forces.

Kristaq 24 and Margarita 19 left their studies abroad and returned to fight for the liberation of their homeland. Brother and sister were killed in Gosa of Kavaja.

The General Directorate of Archives (DPA) reminds that the two heroes were born in Berat. Margarita and Kristaq were grandchildren of Dhimitër Tutulan, an Albanian politician and one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence of Albania, as well as the sons of Miltiadh Tutulani, who served as Minister of Finance in 1930s. On their mother’s side, they were descendants of Sotir Kolea, a folklorist, diplomat and activist of the National Renaissance.

After the WWII, they both were declared as Heroes of the People.
