The Albanian composer of Armenian origin, Haig Zacharian, was born on May 8, 1952 in Durrës.

In 45 years of artistic creativity, there are a number of works in different genres such as vocal works, chamber music, instrumental and symphonic works, film and theater music.

Thirty feature film soundtracks bear Zacharian’s signature: “Illegals”, “My Wedding Toast”, “The Good Man”, “Warm Hand”, “Distant Time”, “Butterfly in My Cabin”, etc.

For all his contribution to the University of Arts, in the Department of Theory and Composition, he holds the title of professor.

He has been awarded numerous prizes for his creativity and musical activities. After the 1990s, his creativity, apart from films, is mainly in the genres of chamber music, where the trends of using and experimenting in contemporary techniques of musical creativity are clearly visible.
