Muntaz Dhrami was born in Gjirokastër on November 10, 1936, he is an Albanian sculptor.

Dhrami finished primary school and two years of high school in Gjirokastra. During the years 1953 – 1956, he studied at the Artistic High School “Jordan Misja” in Tirana. During the years 1956-1957 he worked as a model maker in the Porcelan cooperative. During the years 1957 – 1961, he continued his higher studies in sculpture at the Academy of Art in Saint-Petersburg (Russia). In 1961, he defended his diploma at the High Institute of Arts in Tirana with the monumental group “Çerçiz Topulli” and “Mihal Grameno”.

In the period from 1961 to 1976, he worked as a lecturer and as Dean in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Higher Institute of Arts in Tirana. Periodically, he breaks away from his duties as a lecturer and works as a free creator in the realization of several monuments. For more than 64 years of work, he has carved with a chisel the glorious history of the Albanian nation, such as the Freedom Monument in Drashovica, the Arch of Triumph of the epic wars of Vlora and Labëria, the Monument of “Mother Albania” (co-author) in Tirana against conquerors, he qualifies as one of his masterpieces, the Peza Monument (co-author), the Obelisk of Education in Gjirokastra, the monument of Sali Vranishti etc… He is appreciated by the people as a sculptor with high artistic contributions in the field of sculpture, the establishment of the Albanian school of figurative arts and the elevation of national culture.
