Rafael Dembo was an Albanian painter. Dembo belongs to the group of Albanian painters who were artistically formed in the Academies of the eastern countries of the former socialist camp. He was part of the painters of Albanian socialist realism, creating compositional paintings, portraits and landscapes.

Dembo completed his secondary education in painting at the Jordan Misja Art High School in Tirana and his higher education in painting at the Higher Institute of Arts in St. Petersburg (1950–1957) in the former USSR.

Dembo was born on February 14, 1926 in Korça. He had a difficult childhood, working as a child in his hometown. Initially he was employed by a lawyer (1936 -1939) and later realized the advertisements with the portraits of the most famous actors of the films of the time for two cinemas of the city (“Luxury” and “Majestic”). He worked with the painter Andrea Kushi who taught him drawing and oil painting.

Rafael Dembo is decorated with the title “Naim Frashëri”, Class III. While in 1992, he received the title “Merited Painter”.
