Lajčák and Vučić Discuss Future of Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue

The European Envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák, recently met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to discuss the ongoing dialogue process.
Lajčák highlighted that their discussions centered on the Ohrid Agreement, which he described as a pivotal milestone in advancing the normalization of relations with Kosovo. “In my final meeting in my current capacity with President Aleksandar Vučić, we discussed the state of the dialogue. I underscored that the 2023 Ohrid Agreement has opened the path forward toward normalization. Continued progress is in the best interest of Serbia, Kosovo, the European Union, and their collective future,” Lajčák stated on the social media platform X.
President Vučić, in turn, noted that during the Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he also engaged with Lajčák to address the dialogue’s future.
“I expressed my gratitude to the EU Special Representative for his cooperation over the years and wished him success in his future endeavors. Additionally, I reiterated my call for the European Union and its member states to enhance their commitment and influence in Kosovo, ensuring that the Serbian population in Kosovo is guaranteed the fundamental rights to freedom, justice, and representation,” Vučić wrote on Facebook.
