Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Xhelal Sveçla, announced the closure of Serbian parallel municipalities and post offices across ten regions, including Lipjan, Obiliq, Prishtina, and others. The operation marks the end of parallel Serbian institutions in Kosovo.

Minister Sveçla emphasized that 28 parallel Serbian municipalities were permanently closed. Serbian officials, including Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, condemned the actions, describing them as a threat to the rights and identity of Serbs in Kosovo. Petar Petkovic, Director of the Serbian Office for Kosovo, also criticized the operation, claiming it risked the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
