Kosovan President Osmani and U.S. Deputy Secretary: Strategic Dialogue to be Finalized Soon

Kosova’s President, Vjosa Osmani, announced that the Strategic Dialogue between Kosova and the United States will soon be finalized. She made this statement following her meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary Richard Verma, calling it excellent news for the country.
“Great news for the Republic of Kosova!
After sending the proposal to the United States in 2021, reaffirmed in June 2022 through a verbal note, and discussed with Secretary Blinken in July 2022, as well as the outstanding work of our teams over the past years, today in my meeting with Deputy Secretary Richard Verma, I received confirmation that Kosova and the U.S. will soon finalize the Strategic Dialogue,” Osmani said.
She emphasized that the finalization of the Strategic Dialogue would demonstrate the strong partnership between Kosova and the U.S., adding that the agreement will focus on areas of vital importance to the people of Kosova.
“This is an extraordinary achievement, showing that genuine partnerships, grounded in shared values and interests, always lead to results. I thank the U.S. Government for its continued support for the people of Kosova, and I look forward to continuing our intensive cooperation for the benefit of Kosova. Our teams will meet soon to finalize the Strategic Dialogue agreement, which will address crucial areas for Kosova’s citizens,” Osmani concluded.
Verma is currently visiting Kosova as part of a tour of the Western Balkans. Earlier this week, he was in Albania and is scheduled to visit Serbia on Saturday.
The U.S. State Department previously stated that Verma’s visit to Kosova will focus on the normalization of relations between Kosova and Serbia through the EU-facilitated dialogue, strengthening governance and the rule of law, and promoting economic growth and energy security in Kosova.
