EU’s Miroslav Lajcak Focuses on First Meeting of Kosovo-Serbia Joint Commission for Missing Persons

Miroslav Lajcak, the EU Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, announced that the focus in Brussels this week will be the first meeting of the Joint Commission for Missing Persons. Kosovo and Serbia agreed to the full implementation of the Joint Declaration on Missing Persons in December 2023. This declaration includes commitments to provide reliable information and relevant documents to determine the fate of the missing individuals.

Over 6,000 people went missing during the 1999 Kosovo conflict, with 1,600 still unaccounted for. Kosovo continues to request Serbia’s cooperation in locating these individuals.
