The Center for Studies and Publications on the Arbëresh announced the unveiling of a statue honoring Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, Albania’s national hero, in the central square of Tuzi Municipality, Montenegro.

This initiative followed Tuzi’s administrative separation from Podgorica and its establishment as an independent municipality. The local council unanimously approved the decision to erect the statue, symbolizing national pride and unity.

The ceremony drew attendees from Montenegro, the Albanian-speaking regions, and the diaspora, including members of the Albanian-American community. The project was largely funded by Albanian associations within the “Malësia Diaspora” in the United States.
