Explosion in Zubin-Potok: Hovenier Says U.S. Unable to Identify Perpetrators

U.S. Ambassador to Kosova, Jeffrey Hovenier, stated that the United States is currently unable to determine who is behind the explosion at the Ibër-Lepenc canal in Varagë, Zubin-Potok. He emphasized that no group or state has been ruled out as a potential perpetrator.
After meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Hovenier reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to supporting Kosovo’s institutions.
“At this point, the United States cannot say who is responsible for the attack. It’s too early to make that determination, and such matters require a careful investigation. What I can say is that Kosovo’s institutions have our full support. I’m also not in a position to exclude any group, state, or other entity. It’s too soon; we don’t have the answers yet,” said Hovenier.
The explosion, which occurred on the evening of November 29, caused significant damage to the Ibër-Lepenc water canal in Kosova. This canal is critical for supplying water to local populations and also provides electricity.
Prime Minister Kurti has accused Serbia of being behind what he described as a terrorist attack.
