“We Are in Economic Momentum”: Kosova PM Kurti Announces €882 Million from the Growth Plan for the Balkans

Government of Kosova is anticipating over €880 million in financial inflows thanks to developmental projects outlined in the EU Growth Plan.
During a recent government meeting, Prime Minister Albin Kurti highlighted the success of the Berlin Process for Kosova.
“It has proven to be a successful initiative that has brought the countries of the region closer together and strengthened our ties with the EU. In Berlin, we signed the declaration for the regional common market for 2024–2028. We approved the action plan, which serves as a pillar of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, allowing our Republic to benefit from €882.6 million,” Kurti emphasized.
President Ursula von der Leyen is also scheduled to visit Kosova as part of her Balkan tour, which begins today in Albania. Kurti mentioned that he will discuss EU enlargement plans with her during the visit.
Kosova is recognized as an independent state by over 110 countries, although five European nations have yet to acknowledge its independence from Serbia.
Additionally, Kurti stated that Kosova plans to acquire new buildings for embassies in various countries. Currently, Kosova has 42 diplomatic missions worldwide.
“Yesterday, we inaugurated our new Consulate in Strasbourg, which is now state property and a permanent home for our Republic,” he announced, noting the consulate’s importance alongside projects in the U.S., UK, Croatia, and Senegal.
The meeting also revealed an agreement for satellite internet services with Starlink to ensure telecommunications access during emergencies or natural disasters.
“This week, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic and Postal Communications granted general authorization to Starlink, which provides satellite internet access services. This authorization is a significant step forward in advancing our digital infrastructure and offers numerous opportunities for internet access across all areas of the Republic of Kosova. Starlink has proven essential worldwide for enabling critical communication during natural disasters and national emergencies.
The development of the electronic communications sector will continue based on the principle of Kosovo’s territorial integrity and will benefit businesses, institutions, and all citizens. Electronic communications are a right for every citizen and also present opportunities for businesses and established private investors from our friendly countries,” stated Kurti.
